Obtaining License [Authorised Dealer: Category -I] from RBI for dealing in Foreign Exchange

Once the License is received, Bank has to designate at least one Branch as A-category branch [ it could be Treasury Branch] and remaining branches where it wants to undertake FEX business at B-Category branch.

Bank needs to approach Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India [ FEDAI ] for its membership.

Bank has to set up International Banking Division which will be controlling office with manpower who possess skill set about trade finance and foreign exchange dealing. This office will drive the creation, functionalize and monitoring the activities of Foreign exchange, Trade Finance Vertical and also Foreign Exchange Dealing, Back Office & Nostro Reconciliation.

International Division works as Nodal Officer for the Bank for co-ordination with various agencies and authorities like RBI, FEDAI, DGFT, ECGC. Internally it would be responsible for development, undertaking of foreign exchange business and compliance functions.
